I love Fries, and no not the French kind this time. This electronics store has the BEST selection in the area, period. Imagine of new egg had a store and that's what you're getting here. I assure my fellow nerds that if you don't want to wait for your online order this is the next best option.
Sometimes that thing you need can only be found here. It's like what radio shack used to be... but on steroids. They have literally everything. That being said don't expect much service unless you seek it out and even then it's a bit dicey. The computer component guys however always seem relatively friendly just not the guy that sell entire computers. Restrooms are rarely clean but again... They have everything!
Watch prices though. Sometimes they're great, other times they're a tad high.
Fry's in Arlington screwed me over great. On-line I bought a 4k blu-ray player that had to be picked up at the store. When I got there, Fry's switched models on me and tried to give me a used demo off the showroom floor. Since my drive there was almost a 75 mile round trip, I reluctantly agreed, even knowing I was getting screwed ... paying full price for a used model. When I inquired about the warranty, they said that there was NO warranty on floor models. I just got my money back and walked. Who would pay full price for a demo with NO warranty. Last time I ever go to Fry's ... EVER!!!!!!!!
Great electronics store with a good selection of other things. Always make a point of stopping by when I'm in the area. It's good, though the computer components selection is a little lacking compared to other Fry's. All in all a fun place to browse.
It looks like it was a factory at one time, converted into an electronics store. It would have been an awesome laser tag arena! This store's layout is confusing. I have been to other Fry's stores that are more straightforward. This one has over half of the store accessible by only one somewhat hidden hallway! They need big signs saying "we have more store here!" up high. As it is they have a small paper posted at the hallway... They lose a star here for that.
