Denise is wonderful, warm and friendly the best thing about this place for us. The rest of the staff was average but the night nurse that checked us in should not be allowed to work with children or their distraught families. We have never have been treated so callous and cold. The transfer from this place did not go well his paperwork was not in order and they forgot to transport valuables that were held in their safe and we were told would be transported with our child. The night nurse was unprofessional and cracked a joke about death upon check in to my suicidal child. I do not recommend this facility unless they train their staff to be more professional and empathetic to patients and their families. It feels like a jail not a facility designed for helping people.

This place is like a jail. First of all, they state that the adults are adults and make their own decisions and don't even consult with guardians, spouses or other family members on the status of patients or before they make decisions. If someone is in a behavioral institute, it means that they are incoherent and aren't in the best mental state, so how in the hell are the decisions up to them??

I'm going there

I'm far beyond upset about this place. The staff is ok, but I just don't like the way they operate. The place is like a jail. They lock your loved one away and only let them out when they feel like it and pressure you to stay without consulting family or guardians. This was the only place available at the time and I regret the decision to have chosen to go there. The only positive is that the patients are allowed to use the phones freely. We are very disappointed in this facility.

Last thing....how do you tell someone they may get out on a certain day but then switch up their medication and say they need to stay longer to monitor. And then on top of that give you an ultimatum to either "voluntarily" readmit to the facility or be faced with going to court just because they want to keep you longer?? Horrible horrible policies and service. Never again.
